Independent … not alone.
The Fayetteville Independent Business Alliance seeks to ensure a vibrant and sustainable economy based on locally owned businesses whose owners and clients value their independence.
Why join?
Independent businesses face greater challenges today than ever, especially when competing against corporations with national brand recognition, economies of scale and massive advertising budgets. Independent businesses counter with personalized, high-quality service, by offering unique, top-notch products and by joining together to promote their common interests. By encouraging the community to support its own, the Fayetteville Independent Business Alliance (FIBA) builds interdependence, not only with customers and clients but also between independent businesses and other community groups. Banding together makes for a stronger, more vibrant city that never forgets its past as it builds a better future.
A better way to compete.
The FIBA unites independent businesses, like-minded citizens and community groups of every kind around a common agenda. By raising awareness about the value locally owned businesses offer and their importance in the community, the FIBA helps shift consumer spending to independent businesses - especially to FIBA members. The nominal membership fee - just $100 for businesses - helps promote a vibrant and sustainable economy based on locally owned businesses whose owners and clients value self-reliance.
Together Strong.
Strength comes in numbers. Whether you are a business owner, part of a local community group or a citizen who shares a vision for a strong, independent business climate, we need your help. Imagine our collective voice if we all work together! By joining the FIBA, you will increase your customer base, help sustain other locally owned businesses, strengthen the economy and help ensure that Fayetteville remains the unique community with character and charm that we have come to cherish.
How we can help.
WE ORGANIZE
FIBA helps members reap many of the advantages chains command, including critical brand-
name recognition through our name and logo, group purchasing, co-op advertising rates with some local media, and cooperative promotions. Business members receive a window decal and other promotional materials as they are developed.
WE MARKET
FIBA directly markets businesses through our FIBA Local Directory, an annual printed guide that includes basic information about members as well as up to 50 words to describe their products and services. Our Web site, www.fayiba.org, also lists members and includes an active link to their Web sites. We also market our member’s businesses on the radio, in print advertising and with a variety of other promotional items.
WE INCREASE AWARENESS
FIBA increases awareness about the value of doing business with locally owned businesses and the importance of those businesses in our community. We accomplish this through presentations to classes and civic groups, news features, editorials, and other promotional efforts.
WE BUILD
FIBA builds rapport with key media and government officials to make future reporting and local policies more responsive to the needs of independent businesses and leading our members to receive more frequent media coverage.
“Whether you’re a citizen, local company or another community group, your membership will make a positive contribution to the landscape of the town we love!”
-Liz Slape, Co-Founder
