Independents Week is July 1-7 and is one of AMIBA’s yearly campaigns to celebrate independent businesses.

To observe Independents week here in Fayetteville, we’d love to have a promotion where FIBA businesses offered some sort of discount during the first week of July.

Once you’ve thought of a promotion that fits your business, let us know, so we can put together some group advertising.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 12th! We’ll be gathering at Smoke and Barrel Tavern (behind Jose’s on Dickson) from 5:00-7:00pm. We’ll provide snacks and there will be a table for FIBA members to put their cards and other materials on. The main goal is for us to meet everyone face to face and give our members the opportunity to meet other local business owners in the area. We will have brochures and new member forms, so feel free to bring people who are interested, but have not joined yet.

Need incentive for recruiting a new member? We will personally buy you a beverage of your choice, if you bring and sign a new member for FIBA!

The Smoke and Barrel is non-smoking, and they sell both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We hope to see you there - a little fun would do us all some good!

What: FIBA shin-dig
Where: Smoke and Barrel Tavern
When: Tuesday, May 12th from 5pm-7pm

More than half of the FIBA decals have been applied to storefronts. If you haven’t gotten your sticker, you can pick it up at Nightbird Books (205 W. Dickson).

While you’re there, pick up a packet with a FIBA brochure and a new member form. For the month of May, we’d like everyone to sign up one new member. It’s vitally important to our organization to keep momentum with new membership. So, please invite a friend to check out what we’re all about!

Our storefront window decals are in, and we’ll be delivering them in the next couple of weeks. We want to have a record of FIBA stickers being placed at each member’s business. So, Todd and Dustin of Local540 have volunteered to help us film the decals going up.

One of our members, Ozark Natural Foods, is offering FIBA members the chance to display their businesses within ONF. Every two months, ONF allows coop members to submit in-store display ideas that compliment the theme ONF is currently promoting. ONF has graciously extended that opportunity to FIBA. The displays cannot contain items for purchase and must be approved by ONF as consistent with their message as a business.

The upcoming themes are:
April Earth Month
June Take It On the Road
August Coop KIds / Back to School
October Fall Harvest
December Winter / Holiday Season

Please contact ONF directly with your ideas.
